Job summary

United Felts, A Vortex Company, is hiring a Wetout Technician I to support our liner production. You will stack liners on pallets, assist Inspectors, and ensure filings meet customer requirements with quality control throughout the shift.

The role is full-time on-site with a focus on safety, teamwork, and adherence to process standards. Training is provided and benefits include health, vision, dental, 401K, and PTO.

Qualifications

• Able to perform physically demanding work for 8+ hours a day including standing, walking, bending and twisting.
• Ability to lift and move at least 50 lbs on a continuous basis.
• Wears required PPE such as hard hats, safety vest, boots and safety glasses as required.

Responsibilities

• Read construction sheet and customer requirements to meet the requested specs.
• Assist co-workers in machine setups.
• Assist in wrapping and strapping completed liners.
• Stack liners on pallets neatly according to requirements.
• Assist Inspectors in reviewing liners for quality issues.
• Report quality problems to the Supervisor immediately.
• Check drive rollers for needles before and after running materials.
• Keep repairs out of folds when stacking liners.
• Consult Supervisor to determine correct pallet size for liner.
• Monitor supplies and report shortages to Supervisor.
• Maintain a clean work environment; perform cleaning duties as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

About The Role

As a Wetout Technician I, you will be stacking liners on pallets corresponding to the agreed customer requirements. Assist Inspectors in reviewing liners to ensure we continue to produce and supply our customers with liners of the highest quality.

What You'll Do

• Read construction sheet and customer requirement sheet fully in order to meet the customer requirements.
• Assisting co-workers in machine setups.
• Assisting co-workers in wrapping and strapping down completed liners.
• Stacking liners on pallets neatly and correctly according to customer requirements.
• Assist Inspectors in review the liner as it comes of the line for any quality issues.
• Report any quality problems to the Supervisor immediately.
• Check drive rollers for needles prior to running coated material and after running felt material and/or at the beginning of the shift.
• When stacking liners, keep repairs out of folds.
• Consult with your Supervisor to determine correct pallet size for liner.
• Continually review supplies and report to your Supervisor any shortages.
• Maintain a clean work environment by performing cleaning duties when required.
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Able to wear required PPE, i.e., hard hats, safety vest, work boots, and/or safety glasses/goggles while working as required by the job.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time, non-exempt position. Days and hours of work are typically Monday through Friday but could include weekends, evenings and/or holidays - flexibility is required as job duties demand.
