Job summary

Ducks Unlimited invites applications for a Kentucky Easement Specialist to support the Wetland Reserve Easement program statewide. Based in a USDA Service Center (Madisonville or Mayfield), you’ll handle CUAs, easement records, data entry, and reporting, while coordinating with NRCS staff and landowners.

The role blends office work (70–80%) with field visits, offering extensive training and collaboration with federal and NGO partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in natural resources, wildlife management, conservation, agriculture, environmental science, or related field.
• Experience with conservation programs, natural resource management, administrative support, or easement delivery is preferred.
• Strong interest in wetland conservation and private lands habitat programs.
• Experience with data management, record keeping, reporting, or database administration is highly desirable.
• Combination of office and field work required.
• Infrequent overnight travel may be required.
• Field duties may require working in remote locations and under adverse weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• 70% – Easement Administration, Data Management & Program Support: Develop, review, and process CUAs; maintain and update WRE easement records; enter and track data in USDA and DU systems.
• Coordinate with NRCS field offices to ensure timely completion of easement actions and deliverables; compile monthly/quarterly/annual accomplishments for reporting.
• Assist with monitoring schedules, restoration, and contract obligations; support audits and program evaluations; respond to landowner inquiries.
