Job summary

DNT Construction is hiring a Wet Utilities Pipe Layer in Round Rock, TX to support underground utility projects in the Austin area. The Wet Utilities Department backsfill and compacts trenches after pipe installation, ensuring proper alignment by reading blueprints.

This is a 40–60 hour work week, outdoor and labor-intensive. Requirements include 2 years of underground utility experience, valid transportation, and the ability to pass a drug screen and background check.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of experience installing underground utilities.
• Experience installing water, sanitary, and storm lines.
• Read blueprints and ensure pipe is properly aligned.
• Able to lay 500–600 sqft of pipe per day.
• Must have reliable transportation to the job site.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.

Responsibilities

• Ensure trench is properly prepared and excavated according to grade and project specifications.
• Verify trench bottom grade using grade pole or laser level.
• Shovel, level, and fine grade the bedding layer of gravel.
• Assemble, connect, and install underground piping systems including sanitary sewer, water, and storm drainage.
• Confirm proper pipe alignment and fit prior to backfilling.
• Use grade pole or laser level to verify correct pipe grade.
• Grade top of pipe bedding envelope and check gravel depth for compliance.
• Collaborate with operators and crew to maintain workflow and safety.

Wet Utilities Pipe Layer (Round Rock, TX)

DNT Construction is now hiring several Pipe Layers for our Austin Wet Utilities Austin area projects!

The Wet Utilities Department supports the underground utility systems by properly backfilling and compacting trenches after pipe installation.

To be considered for the role, you must:

• Have at least 2year of experience installing underground utilities in:
  
  
  
  • Water, sanitary, storm
  
  
  • Installing RCP/HDPE
  
  
  
  


• Read blueprints and ensure pipe is perfectly aligned.


• Experience laying down 500 sqft to 600 sqft of pipe a day.


• Reliable transportation to and from the job site.


• Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.

A work week averages 40 to 60 hours. This job is labor-intensive, and you will be working outside!
