Job summary

Indiana University Indianapolis is seeking a highly capable research technician to support basic and translational projects in the GENE TESTING LAB. The role emphasizes bench work, data handling, and collaboration within an active biomedical research environment.

Responsibilities include molecular biology workflows, mammalian cell culture, genotyping, and maintaining meticulous records. In-person position with opportunities to contribute to publications and grant-backed studies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in science or a related field.
• At least 2 years of related research experience.
• Preferred 3 years of hands-on laboratory experience.
• Experience with animal models including mouse colony maintenance, breeding, tissue collection, dissections, and genotyping.

Responsibilities

• Performs data analysis, figure preparation, and research documentation.
• Performs and troubleshoots molecular biology experiments including PCR/qPCR, cloning, plasmid prep, DNA/RNA isolation, QC and sequencing prep.
• Performs Western blotting workflows and quantitative analysis.
• Conducts mammalian cell culture, transfections, sample prep for downstream applications.
• Maintains detailed experimental records and supports data quality and reproducibility.
• Collaborates with PI and lab members to meet project goals and timelines.
