Stamford Public Schools is seeking a Special Education Paraeducator for the CORE Program at Westhill High School for the 2026-2027 school year. This role supports students with IEP goals, including ASD, in CORE and general education settings.
Work with teachers and related services to promote independence, daily living skills and successful classroom participation, within the Paraeducator Contract Wage Schedule III, and under the Stamford Public Schools union UPSEU framework.

To serve as an integral member of the student support team to provide services to students in accordance with the goals/objectives identified by the Individual Education Plan (IEP) in programs for students in specialized programs, including those with Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD), with the overarching goal of promoting student independence and autonomy.
Designed for students have challenges with intellectual functioning, social skills, and daily living skills. CORE classrooms have at least one teacher, three paraeducators, and up to 8 students. Students are assigned to both their CORE classroom and a general education classroom in order to ensure growth and development in the areas of social pragmatics, participation in school activities, and activities of daily living. Related service supports include BCBA, speech and language, occupational therapy, social skills, and physical therapy.

Teachers dually certified in TESOL, Bilingual Education or ESL, with experience in Sheltered Instruction or fluency in a language other than English, will be given preference for all Stamford Public School positions.
The filling of this position is based upon continued funding in the Board of Education budget.
