Description

Primary Responsibilities:

• Delivery Packets:
• Print and prepare driver packets every morning to ensure all paperwork is fresh and accurate.
• Pay close attention to all delivery and pickup notes, including obstacles such as low-hanging trees, restricted access, and specific venues.
• Record driver notes and document any issues that arise during routes on the delivery log.
• Familiarize with diagrams provided by sales for event setup to assist as needed.
• Delivery Team Support:
• Foster team morale and encourage safe work habits among delivery personnel.
• Assist in scheduling to ensure timely departures in the mornings.
• Maintain constant communication with delivery teams throughout the day, checking in on their progress and providing support.
• Call clients to inform them when delivery teams are en route to the venue.
• Help problem-solve on-site issues that may occur during deliveries, including damage or missing items, coordinating “hot shot” deliveries as needed.
• Vehicle Fleet Maintenance:
• Track and document vehicle maintenance for the delivery fleet, ensuring timely scheduling of maintenance.
• Conduct daily checks for preventive maintenance (PM) on delivery vehicles to ensure they are in good working condition.
• Order rental trucks when necessary, obtaining approvals from Rental Operations.
• Teamwork and Communication:
• Encourage delivery team morale and address any challenges with loading and venue difficulties.
• Collaborate with the sales team on updates, changes with truck sizes, delivery issues, and venue information.
• Print and update the warehouse on any changes to delivery plans.
• Problem-solve issues that arise on job sites, communicating effectively with warehouse personnel.
• Provide translation assistance if bilingual, bridging communication between the warehouse and dispatch.
• Training Drivers and Helpers:
• Assist with on-truck training for new drivers and helpers, covering processes for paperwork and client handling.
• Ensure drivers are familiar with truck inspection forms and product handling protocols.
• Guide team members on effective communication with clients, especially during arrival notifications and addressing dissatisfaction.
• Emphasize dress code and presentability for all delivery staff.
• Fleet Safety Program Participation:
• Support the lead for the Fleet Safety Program, actively promoting driver safety among delivery personnel.
• Additional Duties:
• Assist with other tasks as instructed by management to ensure smooth operations within the logistics department.
