Job summary

The Wellness Specialist coordinates and delivers workplace wellness, health promotion, injury prevention, and ergonomic initiatives at a dedicated client site in Flagstaff, Arizona.

Working closely with the onsite WorkCare Injury Prevention Specialist (Athletic Trainer), this position supports employee well-being through health education, wellness screenings, programming, ergonomic assessments, injury prevention initiatives, and employee engagement activities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in health promotion, public health, nutrition, exercise science, kinesiology, health sciences, ora relatedfieldrequired.
  • Wellness coaching certification, ergonomic certification, or related health promotion credential preferred.
  • Experience conducting office and/or industrial ergonomic assessments preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in workplace wellness, health promotion, health coaching, ergonomics, injury prevention, corporate fitness, or related field required.
  • Experience working in manufacturing, clean room, industrial, or regulated environments preferred.
  • Experience collaborating with athletic trainers, safety professionals, or occupational health teams preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and deliver onsite wellness programs focused on physical activity, nutrition, stress management, sleep health, chronic disease prevention, injury prevention, and ergonomics.
  • Serve as the primary wellness resource for employees and client stakeholders.
  • Facilitate wellness workshops, health campaigns, lunch-and-learns, wellness challenges, stretch-and-flex programs, and special events.
  • Conduct wellness screenings and assessments, including blood pressure screenings, grip strength testing, functional movement screenings and office ergonomic assessments, in accordance with established protocols.
  • Collaborate with the onsite WorkCare Injury Prevention Specialist (Athletic Trainer) to support injury prevention programming, ergonomic interventions, workforce conditioning initiatives, and employee education efforts.
  • Assist with office and industrial ergonomic assessments and provide recommendations consistent with WorkCare guidelines.
  • Provide health education, behavior change support, and referrals to appropriate resources.
  • Promote participation in wellness programs and digital wellness tools to support employee engagement and healthy lifestyle behaviors.
  • Identify opportunities to improve employee health, wellness engagement, ergonomics, and injury prevention efforts.
  • Coordinate wellness activities, educational campaigns, and onsite events to maximize employee participation and engagement.
  • Track wellness participation, ergonomic assessments, injury prevention initiatives, and program outcomes using established reporting tools.
  • Analyze participation and engagement trends and provide recommendations for program improvement.
  • Prepare reports and summaries for WorkCare leadership and client stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with client leadership, safety personnel, and HR representatives to support workplace health and wellness initiatives.
  • Maintain confidentiality, professionalism, and compliance with applicable privacy, safety, and workplace health requirements; exercise sound professional judgment and maintain current knowledge of workplace wellness, ergonomics, injury prevention and employee engagement best practices.

Job Summary

The Wellness Specialist coordinates and delivers workplace wellness, health promotion, injury prevention, and ergonomic initiatives at a dedicated client site in Flagstaff, Arizona. Working closely with the onsite WorkCare Injury Prevention Specialist (Athletic Trainer), this position supports employee well-being through health education, wellness screenings, programming, ergonomic assessments, injury prevention initiatives, and employee engagement activities.

The Wellness Specialist serves as an onsite resource for employees and client stakeholders, promoting healthy lifestyle behaviors, workplace safety, and participation in wellness programs. The role provides education, coaching, and referrals within established scope and does not include clinical diagnosis or treatment.

Schedule: Wednesday - Friday 12:00pm - 9:00pm.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Physical Demands:
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
  • Occasional lifting of wellness materials (up to 20 pounds).
  • Ability todemonstrateor facilitate light movement activities asappropriate.
  • Ability to walk through office, warehouse, manufacturing, operational, and clean room environments to perform wellness, ergonomic, and employee engagement activities.
  • Work is performed primarily onsite and may require frequent walking throughout the facility.
  • Must be able to comply with client-specific safety protocols, personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements, gowning procedures, and clean room access requirements.

This position has an hourly pay range of $35 - $38 per hour. Final compensation rate for this position depends on factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and qualifications.
