Sonida Senior Living is seeking a Traveling Assisted Living Clinical Specialist RN to provide clinical leadership across our communities, primarily in Dallas/Fort Worth, Austin, and San Antonio. This role requires Monday–Friday travel and oversight of nursing operations to ensure high-quality resident care.

The RN will supervise the nursing team, coordinate onboarding for Wellness Directors, and ensure compliance with state regulations, billing procedures, and medication management.

Qualifications

  • Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse with a minimum of 1-year experience in senior housing and/or geriatric nursing.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience as Director of Nursing or Wellness Director with proven leadership.
  • Ability to travel up to 100% across communities; overnight travel may be required.
  • CPR and First Aid certification within first 90 days.
  • English reading, writing and speaking essential for communication with residents and families.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical leadership in communities lacking a clinical leader; cover Dallas/Ft Worth, Austin, and San Antonio, TX.
  • Supervise nursing department staff, coordinate overall direction and evaluation of the department.
  • Assist onboarding and training of new Wellness Directors.
  • Ensure compliance with state regulations and reimbursement/billing processes.
  • Oversee medication management and MAR accuracy; coordinate with consultant pharmacist.
  • Communicate with families to maintain relationships and inform about resident status.
  • Support marketing activities by participating in tours and discussions about clinical needs.
  • Plan work schedules and direct daily duties; provide on-call backup; maintain confidentiality.

Job Description:

Traveling Assisted Living Clinical Specialist RN is responsible to provide clinical leadership support in communities where a clinical leader may not be present. This person will cover primarily Dallas/Ft Worth, Austin, and San Antonio, TX. Monday through Friday travel is required for this role.

The Traveling Assisted Living Clinical Specialist RN will provide temporary coverage for the overall implementation, delivery, and coordination of resident clinical services at the community. Directly supervises all team members of the nursing department. This position is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this department. This person also carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. The responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training team members; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding, coaching and managing team member performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

The Traveling Assisted Living Clinical Specialist RN is responsible for assisting in onboarding and training new Wellness Directors.

Responsibilities:

  • Involves being completely familiar with the state regulations governing Assisted Living and ensuring compliance indepartment by regularly reviewing regulations checklist.
  • Performs timely and accurate resident assessments utilizing assessment tool, and communicating changes to theExecutive Director for billing purposes
  • Manages expenses within given budget parameters utilizing spend-down sheets.
  • Provides oversight with medication management to assure all MAR's are correct and that the residents receivemedications timely and accurately. Working with consultant pharmacist as needed to assure community is incompliance.
  • Ensures all charting is performed in a timely manner and in accordance with state regulations.
  • Provides timely and honest communication with families in order to promote good relationships and to keep theminformed about the resident's condition and community events.
  • Provides marketing support within the community by participating in tours and discussions with potential residentsand their families about clinical needs of the prospect.
  • Provides assessments for potential residents to determine their eligibility for Assisted Living.
  • Creates positive team member relations through staff appreciation programs, recognition of excellent performance,and retention through regular feedback systems and promotional incentive programs.
  • Provides appropriate guidance for team members by planning work schedules, assigning work duties while on shift,and directing the work on a daily basis.
  • Provides on-call backup to community when not on duty. Maintains confidentiality of all pertinent personal or healthinformation concerning residents and staff.
  • Ensures that any incident reports are completed properly and promptly.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by the Regional Clinical Manager

Qualifications:

  • Qualified candidates must be currently licensed as a Registered Nurse with a minimum of 1-year experience in senior housing and/or geriatric nursing.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience working as a Director of Nursing or Wellness Director with a demonstratedsuccess in leading nursing teams to meet successful resident outcomes.
  • Candidate must be able to travel up to 100% of the time to various communities within the assigned market. This can require overnight travel.
  • Candidate must either be certified or be able to become CPR and First Aid Certified within the first 90 days ofemployment.
  • Candidate must also be able to read, write and speak the English language and be able to communicateeffectively with residents, families, physicians, and team members.
  • Candidate must have the ability to be on call, and occasionally work nights, weekends and holidays.
