Job summary

The Arc of Central Alabama is seeking a Wellness Office Assistant to provide administrative support to the Wellness division, helping nursing and clinical staff deliver care. You will manage front-office tasks, organize health records, schedule appointments, and communicate with staff, families, and visitors in a professional, confidential manner.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of six months in administrative/clerical/office support.
  • Background check and TB testing required.
  • Proficiency with basic office software and phone systems.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and assist visitors, staff, and families professionally.
  • Answer and route calls/messages for nursing and clinical staff.
  • File, organize, and maintain health records per confidentiality.
  • Assist scheduling internal meetings and training for Wellness staff.
  • Prepare and distribute routine correspondence and forms.
  • Order and track office and clinical supplies.
  • Support data entry and recordkeeping in health systems.
  • Assist Health Service Coordinators with appointment tasks.
  • Maintain a clean, welcoming Wellness office.
  • Support other admin tasks as directed by the Wellness Nurse Coordinator.
