Job summary

The National Institute for Fitness and Sport (NIFS) is seeking a Health Fitness Specialist to design exercise programs, perform fitness assessments, and provide wellness guidance within our fitness center. You will deliver group classes, support member health goals, and collaborate with staff across departments.

Strong knowledge of ACSM guidelines, safety awareness, and customer service are essential, along with the ability to adapt programs for diverse populations and deliver engaging,

Qualifications

• Degree in health-related field or higher; internship preferred.
• Experience in corporate fitness setting is advantageous.
• 1 year or less experience in the field is acceptable.
• Ability to teach basic group fitness classes.
• Ability to prescribe exercise for diverse populations per ACSM guidance.

Responsibilities

• Assess health status and provide exercise prescriptions and fitness testing.
• Create educational print materials with safe health information.
• Teach on-site group exercise classes for various fitness levels.
• Supervise fitness center staff and delegate tasks as needed.
• Conduct orientations and participate in program initiatives.
• Assist with marketing programs and member engagement.
