Job summary

YMCA of Northwest North Carolina is seeking a Part-Time Wellness Coach to lead new member uFit sessions, guide exercise technique, and support member engagement. You will supervise workouts, assist with equipment use, and ensure safety and cleanliness in the wellness center.

The role emphasizes strong customer service, teamwork, and adherence to risk management procedures while promoting YMCA values within a welcoming environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; college degree preferred in a related field such as exercise science or physical education.
• CPR/First Aid/AED/Oxygen certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
• Excellent customer service and strong member engagement skills; ability to work with diverse groups.

Responsibilities

• Lead new member uFit sessions following YMCA protocol and demonstrate proper exercise techniques.
• Provide supervision and encouragement during sessions and track member progress.
• Assist members on equipment usage and answer questions with professional guidance.
• Ensure health/medical consent forms are completed prior to appointments and assess any health concerns.
• Maintain a clean, safe wellness environment and report equipment issues promptly.
• Communicate with the Wellness Director and follow risk management procedures.
