Job summary

Iowa State University is seeking a Violence Prevention Specialist within Student Wellness in the Division of Student Affairs. The role focuses on education, outreach, and health promotion to support student wellbeing and safety on campus.

The position emphasizes collaboration with campus partners, development of prevention campaigns, and data-informed program evaluation. Weekend hours may be required.

Qualifications

• Experience in violence prevention or health promotion programs.
• Ability to plan trainings and outreach activities.
• Strong collaboration with campus partners.
• Experience collecting and reporting program data.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and evaluate violence prevention programs and campaigns.
• Plan, facilitate trainings and outreach on consent education, bystander intervention, and student wellbeing.
• Coordinate campus-wide prevention initiatives, awareness campaigns, events, and programs.
• Build and maintain partnerships with campus departments, student groups, community organizations, and external stakeholders.
• Support the implementation, assessment, and continuous improvement of university violence prevention strategies.
• Recruit, train, supervise, and support peer educators and student leaders.
• Develop and disseminate educational materials, resources, digital content, and marketing strategies.
• Collect, analyze, and report program data and assessment outcomes to measure effectiveness.
• Serve on university and community committees and workgroups that support prevention goals.
• Occasional weekend/evening hours will be involved in this role.
