Aviagen North America is seeking an Animal Welfare & Biosecurity Specialist to safeguard welfare and health in breeding programs. The role conducts internal audits across production and hatchery operations and supports best practices at all levels.

You will work closely with site managers and staff to ensure adherence to welfare guidelines, lead trainings, and implement corrective actions from audits while traveling across the United States as needed.

Formación

• Must be based in North Central Alabama.
• Bachelor of Science in Poultry Science or related field preferred.
• Willingness and ability to travel frequently (approx. 50%).
• Computer skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
• Self-driven with the ability to work independently for extended periods.

Responsabilidades

• Ensure company and/or legal standards are maintained in terms of animal handling and welfare.
• Develop and maintain animal welfare and biosecurity programs, standards, and procedures.
• Lead and facilitate internal trainings, workshops, and educational initiatives.
• Conduct routine global animal welfare and biosecurity audits across regions to evaluate compliance.
• Serve as subject-matter expert resource for ANA operations on welfare expectations.
• Support development and implementation of corrective actions identified in audits with follow-up.
• Collaborate with internal teams to respond to audit findings in a timely, data-driven manner.
• May perform other tasks as deemed necessary by Manager.
