Job summary

Collins Aerospace in Windsor Locks, CT, is seeking a skilled welder for the 2nd shift to assemble and join aerospace components using fusion welding, brazing, and related processes. You will read specifications, perform quality documentation, and ensure traceability of tools and parts.

Responsibilities include maintaining equipment, supporting audits, and moving materials per standard flow. Work 2nd shift: 3:30pm–12am, Monday to Friday; training may occur on 1st or 2nd shift for up to 3 months.

Qualifications

  • 1-2 years relevant experience.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Production welding experience preferred.
  • TIG and Aluminum welding experience preferred.
  • Experience in the aerospace industry is a plus (5-7 years).

Responsibilities

  • Work from specifications, sketches, technical orders and blueprints within established methods.
  • Perform fusion welding, salt braze torch braze, plasma cutting, electric-arc, heli-arc, and acetylene welding.
  • Ensure documentation including specs and tools is quality compliant and traceable.
  • Perform preventative maintenance.
  • Participate in audits of processes, procedures, and work areas.
  • Move parts and materials to designated locations following standard material flow.

Operate various welding, soldering and brazing equipment to manufacture heat exchangers, water separators and environmental control system components while practicing and complying with environmental health and safety directions and procedures.

What You Will Do
  • Work from various instructions such as specifications, sketches, technical orders, blueprints and other written and verbal instructions within established methods and procedures.

  • Perform preventative maintenance.
  • Participate in audits of processes, procedures and work areas.
  • Responsible for own work.
  • Move parts and materials to designate locations in accordance with normal material flow procedures.
  • Keep equipment and surroundings neat, clean and organized.
  • Perform related duties as required within the scope and skill level of this job function.
  • 2nd Shift: 3:30pm to 12am, Monday to Friday.
  • Training may take place on 1st or 2nd Shift for up to 3 months.

The salary range for this role $36.46 - $45.80 per hour; however, Raytheon Technologies considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, education/training, and key skills.
