Job summary

Novelis Oswego is hiring a Fabricator to perform welding, cutting, and fabrication operations, including pipe welding, MIG/TIG, silver soldering, and various burning and cutting tasks. You will read blueprints, follow detailed instructions, and collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams to repair and modify equipment.

The role requires five years of fabrication experience or a related degree, with strong attention to detail and safety for precise manufacturing at the Oswego plant.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints and sketches and modify as needed.
• Collaborate with Engineering Maintenance and Operational teams to build/repair/modify equipment.

Position Overview

Novelis Oswego has an exciting opportunity for a Fabricator! The successful candidate must have a complete knowledge of the various welding, cutting, and fabrication operations. These may include but are not limited to: pipe welding, silver soldering, spray welding, electric ARC, heli ARC, acetylene cutting, scarfing operations, brazing and soldering, layout, mig/tig welding, use of brake, press, roller, burning table and other related equipment. The ability to share information with coworkers is also a must. The successful candidate must also have a strong attention to detail as well.

Responsibilities

• Utilize various welding, cutting, and fabrication techniques including:
  • Pipe welding
  • MIG/TIG Welding
  • Silver soldering
  • Spray welding
  • Electric ARC / heli ARC
  • Acetylene cutting
  • Scarfing operations
  • Brazing and soldering
  • Familiar use of brake, press, roller, burning table and other related equipment
• Read and interpret blueprints & sketches and build/modify as necessary
• Work cross-functionally with both peers in Engineering Maintenance and Operational departments to build/repair/modify equipment as necessary.

• Five years Fabrication experience or similar degree/certificate is required

For this role, the pay is from $40.50 USD / hour. Individual pay will vary based on qualifications, experience, and performance.
