Sigma Division is seeking a Research and Development Engineer with a Metallurgy, Welding, or similar Engineering background to work within a diverse R&D program supporting weapons and global security programs at LANL as well as external collaborators, including universities, private industry, and other government laboratories.
The Welding & Joining (W&J) Team applies various welding disciplines to solve manufacturing challenges, supports computational efforts, and collaborates across teams to innovate in welding and joining processes. This position can be filled at the R&D Engineer 1 or 2 level, with additional responsibilities at the higher level.
Level 1: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, 2 years related experience, or equivalent.
Level 2: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, 4 years related experience, or equivalent.
Ability to obtain a Q clearance (U.S. citizenship required).
Position is onsite in Los Alamos, NM. Requires U.S. citizenship for security clearance. The role involves physical activity, including lifting 30+ pounds.
