Job summary

Truck Bodies & Equipment International (TBEI) is seeking a diligent Quality Inspector at our Mississippi facility to inspect welds and components, compare to drawings, and document non-conforming parts. You will collaborate with manufacturing teams, assist in audits, and drive corrective actions to ensure high-quality production.

The role requires strong welding knowledge, blueprint reading, and attention to detail, with a focus on safety and continuous improvement in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of welding processes, mechanical inspection methods, blueprints, and quality standards.
• Must be able to identify small weld defects and read fine print and drawings.
• Ability to bend, kneel, twist, climb, and lift up to 50 lbs., with pushing/pulling requirements up to 100 lbs.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, and a collaborative mindset.
• Commitment to safety standards and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Inspect welds and components for surface defects such as cracks, incomplete welds, pits, fabrication errors, installation errors and paint flaws during all phases of production.
• Perform inspections on fabricated components, and machined parts.
• Compare finished products to engineering drawings to verify dimensions and specifications.
• Identify, reject, and document non-conforming parts and track quality trends.
• Collaborate with manufacturing engineering, supervisors, and area leads to reduce defects and implement corrective actions.
• Complete and submit Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) for design or process issues.
• Conduct internal audits and assist in audit preparations and follow-ups.
• Participate in continuous improvement and Lean initiatives by offering feedback, following workflows, and maintaining a clean, organized work area.
• Analyze quality data using tools such as Pareto charts, histograms, MSA, and other statistical methods.
• Lead and verify CAPAs and RCAs.
• Provide training and mentorship to employees on quality procedures and best practices.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
