Job summary

Comfort Systems USA in Houston is seeking a Welder Auditor/Tester responsible for performing welder testing and evaluation of candidates, auditing welding operations, and maintaining quality logs.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in welding standards, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Preferred qualifications include CWI certification and experience in non-destructive testing practices.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience working with welding and welding standards.
• Proficient in MS Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Administer and monitor welding tests for eligibility of candidates.
• Conduct daily weld audits to ensure compliance with procedures.
• Document inspection results and maintain logs.

Skills

Excellent ability to interpret welding procedure variables

Excellent ability to perform standard weld monitoring tests

High proficiency in welding consumable determination

Interpret welding compliance to AWS D1.1 acceptance criteria

Strong computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Education

High School diploma or equivalent

Technical education in welding and welding principals
