Job summary

Big Tex Trailers seeks a Weld Production Manager to lead all welding and fabrication operations, ensuring safety, quality, and on-time production of trailers. You will manage process standards, equipment effectiveness, and weld integrity while driving continuous improvement across the plant.

The role requires strong leadership, extensive welding experience, and the ability to read blueprints and welding symbols.

Qualifications

• Extensive welding and fabrication experience in manufacturing.
• Proven leadership in a fast-paced plant environment.
• Ability to read blueprints, weld symbols, and engineering drawings.

Responsibilities

• Lead welding and fabrication operations to meet production schedules and customer demand.
• Standardize welding equipment, processes, and procedures; verify machine settings and weld integrity.
• Troubleshoot welding process/equipment issues with Maintenance and Quality teams to minimize downtime.
• Oversee weld quality systems, review prints, weld maps, and procedural compliance.
• Coach and develop welding personnel; foster accountability and continuous improvement.
• Ensure compliance with engineering specs, procedures, and quality standards.
• Monitor performance metrics and drive cost reduction and efficiency gains.
• Collaborate with Materials, Quality, Maintenance, and Distribution to optimize production flow and labor utilization.
• Lead investigations and root cause analyses for production, quality, safety, and equipment issues.
• Promote safety culture and ensure PPE compliance and OSHA adherence.
• Support staffing, training, and talent development initiatives.
