Job summary

Zobility is seeking a Welding Engineer to provide technical leadership in welding process technology and control, partnering with operations, maintenance and QA to define and implement best practices and KPI-driven improvements across shifts.

You will stay current with welding technology, develop WPS/PQRs, train operators and technicians for SAW, GMAW and SMAW, and support supplier evaluations to improve safety, quality and productivity across the mill environment.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of welding processes and codes relevant to steel pipe products.
• Ability to develop WPS/PQR and SWCCD documents.

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance, coaching and mentorship for welding technicians and engineers.
• Develop and implement best practices for welding setup and process controls to reduce defects and improve quality.
• Develop and implement training for SAW, GMAW and SMAW techniques for operators and technicians.
• Approve WPS/weld parameters in collaboration with Operations and QA.
• Establish and monitor KPI parameters and weld quality data across shifts.
• Oversee troubleshooting guides and supplier evaluations to improve methods and materials.
