Job summary

DCC is seeking a Welding Instructor to teach and mentor students in Avondale, LA. This full‑time, 9‑month faculty position requires instruction in welding theory and hands‑on lab work, with emphasis on safety, standards, and industry practices.

The ideal candidate will integrate NCCER and AWS SENSE standards, assess student work, and ensure alignment with course outcomes. The role includes advising students and maintaining laboratory operations.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher in Welding Technology or related field as requested.
• Direct, hands‑on welding experience with SMAW, GMAW, FCAW, GTAW.
• Ability to read blueprints and welding symbols; interpret specs.
• Experience teaching welding concepts in a college/technical setting.

Responsibilities

• Teach welding lectures, labs, and related courses per syllabi and outcomes.
• Maintain safety procedures, equipment, and shop cleanliness.
• Assess student performance and provide corrective feedback.
• Develop lab exercises and projects to demonstrate competencies.
• Advise students on workplace competencies and career paths.
• Participate in curriculum development and program assessment.
