Job summary

Fincantieri Bay Shipbuilding in Sturgeon Bay, WI, is seeking a Welding Foreman for first shift (Mon–Fri, 6:30am–4:00pm) to oversee welding operations on new ship construction, renovation, and maintenance projects.

You will supervise up to 40 employees, coordinate welding activities, monitor schedules, ensure adherence to quality and safety standards, and drive on-time project delivery. Domestic travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret shipbuilding drawings, welding symbols, structural specifications, work packages, fabrication schedules, and engineering requirements to determine material needs and work sequences.
• Plan and oversee welding, structural fabrication, assembly, alignment, and installation activities for shipboard structures, tanks, compartments, piping, and equipment.
• Coordinate workforce assignments, monitor production schedules, and ensure welding work is completed in accordance with quality, safety, environmental, and project requirements.
• Plan activities and overtime as needed to meet project demands.
• Other duties as assigned

Position Summary

The Welding Foreman is responsible for coordinating welding department activities related to new ship construction, renovation, repair, and maintenance projects. The Welding Foreman will provide on-site direction by monitoring work progress, offering guidance, promoting accountability, ensuring quality standards, and meeting project deadlines. This is a leadership position with direct management of up to 40 employees.

Domestic travel may be required.
