General Dynamics Electric Boat Corp. in North Kingstown, RI, at the Quonset Point facility, is seeking a Welding Equipment Repair Technician to perform routine preventative maintenance on welding machines to ensure optimal performance and longevity.

Responsibilities include diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues, maintaining service records, conducting inspections, coordinating with planners, ordering parts, and training staff on proper use and safety.

Competenze

• High school diploma or equivalent or 2+ years related technical experience.
• 1 year minimum in electrical or mechanical maintenance or related training.
• Able to work all shifts and overtime as needed.
• Own basic hand tools.

General Dynamics Electric Boat, the nation's premier designer and builder in nuclear submarines, is seeking a Welding Equipment Repair Technician.

The role of a Welding Equipment Repair Technician is to perform routine preventative maintenance on welding equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity.

Responsibilities of this position are as follows:

• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues in welding machines and associated equipment
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance and repair work, including parts used and labor hours
• Conduct regular inspections of equipment to identify potential issues before they become major problems
• Collaborate with the Direct Planner and other team members to ensure timely and efficient maintenance and repair schedules
• Order and maintain inventory of parts and supplies needed for maintenance and repairs
• Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment and provide technical support and training to staff on proper use and maintenance of welding equipment

This position isat the Quonset Point facility in North Kingstown, RI.

Qualifications

Required:

• High school diploma or equivalent OR minimum of 2 years related technical experience
• Minimum of 1 year experience in electrical and/or mechanical maintenance and/or formal training or other directly related experience
• Available to work all shifts and work overtime as needed
• Basic mechanical knowledge to be able to effectively support mechanical repairs when the need should arise
• Individuals are required to possess their own basic hand tools
• Ability to pick up and carry 50LBS
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
• Ability to work at heights, confined spaces and in extreme temperature conditions as required

Preferred:

• Minimum of 3 years Electrical and Mechanical diagnostic and repair experience
• ATICTS experience
• Additional preference given for Vocational, Technical and Community Colleges or Apprentice Programs
• Familiarity with MRP II, Oracle, Corrigo (Or any CMMS programs)
• Journeyman electrical
• Military/ Navy experience
