Job summary

Fronius USA, LLC is seeking a Welding Engineer Technician who combines welding expertise with advanced technology to support customers and promote Fronius products across regions. You will conduct weld tests, document results, manage CRM records, organize on-site tests and trainings, and collaborate with customers to tailor solutions; travel frequently to customer sites and production start-ups.

Job description

The Welding Engineer Technician has a strong connection to the trade of welding and technology and can work both independently and as a team player. This position is responsible for implementing and following the sales strategy by using in-depth and advanced welding techniques. The Welding Engineer Technician demonstrates the value of Fronius products and services to new and existing customers. The goal is to provide welding support to our regions and customers as well as the promotion of the Fronius brand in the welding industry with the purpose of increasing market share. This position requires frequent travel to customer sites, installation sites, and meetings.

Tasks and Responsibilities

• Assumes responsibility for supporting all aspects of Fronius welding technology and equipment
• Carries out weld tests for clients or prospective clients and documents the results on Fronius Intranet (CRM, SharePoint)
• Records all customer‑related activity in the CRM Platform
• Organizes and executes products and weld tests at customer locations prior to and during production start‑up
• Evaluates client needs to maximize products, services, upgrades, and overall solutions for their welding challenges
• Works with existing and prospective customers, providing guidance and support of Fronius welding products
• Understands customer needs and provides suggestions for needed spare parts as well as other materials to be stocked by customer
• Provides customer support in product availability, pricing, quotes, special situations, information for bids, equipment documentation, and weld demonstrations
• Provides e‑mail and telephone support for routine and complex welding queries/problems
• Provides technical support for the introduction of products/systems/processes into the market
• Programs, troubleshoots, and tests automated systems (such as robots and hard automation)
• Performs/Supports installations, commissioning, and training at client locations
• Designs and conducts trainings and events for Fronius regional teams and clients
• Creates and customizes training documents for new and existing customers
• Participates in trade fairs and provides product and technical guidance and support at regional and national events
• Leads and supports initiation of modifications/further development of Fronius products
• Forwards feedback about the technical aspects of the market, competition, and products to Technical Support International
• Facilitates and leads feasibility studies
• Deals with challenges and promotes teamwork practices to achieve established goals and objectives effectively and positively
• Manages executive, mid‑management, and technical decision makers within a single organization
• Promotes and supports the “Fronius Way” philosophy
• All other duties as assigned by management

Requirements

• Associate degree or bachelor’s degree required
• Must be willing and authorized to travel throughout the USA and possibly overseas Regular Travel
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Experience in the field and/or Welding Engineering Technology
• High interest in technology and in particular enjoys the trade of welding
• Knowledge of Spanish and/or German a plus
• Strong knowledge of MS Outlook, Excel, Word, Power Point
• Ability to work independently and/or remotely
• Candidate must be able to work with a team or independently as the need arises
• High degree of problem‑solving skills
• Excellent communication and welding skills
• Highly organized
• Ability to work on multiple projects
• Demonstrated ability as a team contributor
• Possess a valid passport, or has the ability to obtain and pay for a valid passport
