SpaceX is seeking a Materials Engineer, Welding (Starship Components) to lead development and qualification of welding processes for critical Starship parts. You will interface with design, tooling, automation, build, and test teams to standardize welding practices under extreme environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
• Hands-on fabrication, manufacturing, or testing with welded assemblies.

Responsibilities

• Develop, optimize, and qualify welding processes across multiple welding methods.
• Support production operations on full-scale welded assemblies.
• Provide root-cause analysis for weld-related issues.
• Collaborate with design, tooling, automation, and test engineers to improve weld designs.
• Set up welding qualification test campaigns and interpret test/NDE results.
• Implement improved process control using test and NDE results.
• Set up automated welding solutions to drive consistency.
• Explore new welding technologies to improve rate/quality/efficiency.
