Job summary

Horan Hiring Solutions, LLC is seeking a Welding Engineer to develop, optimize, and support welding processes in a vehicle manufacturing environment in Van Wert, Ohio. You will partner with Engineering, Production, and Quality teams to ensure weld quality and drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in welding, mechanical, electrical engineering or related field.
• Minimum 3 years in welding engineering or weld process development.
• AWS certification preferred.

Welding Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize MIG, TIG, and resistance welding processes.

• Define and maintain welding parameters, procedures, and standards.

• Investigate welding defects, leading root cause analysis and corrective actions.

• Ensure compliance with AWS, ISO, and IATF 16949 industry standards.

• Conduct weld audits, support PPAP submissions, and develop PFMEAs and control plans.

• Apply Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles to reduce waste, cycle time, and consumable costs.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Welding, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

• Experience: Minimum 3 years in welding engineering or weld process development within a manufacturing setting. AWS certification preferred.

• Technical Skills: Familiarity with GD&T, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and MS Office. Strong understanding of weld procedure development and defect analysis.

Physical Requirements & Conditions

• Lift up to 40 lbs with assistance and perform frequent standing, walking, and bending.

• Successfully complete pre-employment drug and alcohol testing.
