Braun-Industries in Van Wert, Ohio seeks a Welding Engineer to develop, implement, and optimize welding processes for our vehicle manufacturing environment. You will ensure weld quality, drive process improvements, and support new product launches in collaboration with Manufacturing, Production, and Quality teams.

The role emphasizes process documentation, PFMEA and control plans, and adherence to AWS, ISO, and IATF 16949 standards, with a focus on safety, efficiency, and cost performance.

Competenze

• BS degree in welding, mechanical, electrical or related field.
• 3+ years of welding engineering or weld process development experience in manufacturing.
• Experience with welding processes, inspection methods, and corrective actions.
• AWS certification or equivalent preferred.
• Knowledge of GD&T, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and MS Office.
• Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma knowledge preferred.

Mansioni

• Develop and optimize welding processes including MIG, TIG, resistance welding, and other joining methods.
• Define, document, and maintain welding parameters, procedures, and standards.
• Investigate welding defects and lead root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with AWS, ISO, IATF 16949, and other industry standards.
• Monitor weld quality with Quality and Production teams to implement improvements.
• Conduct weld audits and support PPAP submissions and quality initiatives.
• Lead welding-related equipment, tooling, and process improvement projects.
• Support new product launches through weld feasibility reviews and tooling development.
• Develop and maintain PFMEAs, control plans, work instructions, and process documentation.
• Apply Lean and Six Sigma to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
• Drive cost reduction initiatives related to welding consumables, scrap, and cycle time.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Production teams.
• Support additional projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
