Job summary

Acme Brick Company, a Berkshire Hathaway company, is seeking a Welder for the evening shift (12PM-8PM may fluctuate) to maintain production assets safely and efficiently while staying current withnew materials and techniques.

The ideal candidate will perform maintenance welding, read blueprints and service manuals, follow lock-out tag-out procedures and PPE rules, lift 25–50 pounds, and support operations with reliability and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; OR one to three months related experience AND/OR training; OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Well-rounded skills in maintenance welding.
• Ability to interpret blueprints, specifications and other standards.
• Knowledge of power/hand tools.
• Must be able to lift 25-50 pounds regularly.
• Must be able to pass Hazmat exam.

Responsibilities

• Utilize welding and maintenance skills on production, packaging, processing equipment and utilities.
• Read, analyze and interpret technical procedures, service manuals and work orders for maintenance.
• Follow lock-out tag-out procedures and wear all required PPE in designated areas.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned) This is a safety sensitive position*

• Utilized skills in metal working and welding
• Ensure operation of machinery and equipment by completing maintenance requirements on production, packaging, processing equipment and utility systems
• Read, analyze and interpret technical procedures, service manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service
• Follow all required work safe practices including lock-out tag-out requirements and wearing of all required PPE in designated areas
