Job summary

Major Tool & Machine (MTM) in Indianapolis, IN is seeking skilled welders to join a team performing layout, fit-up, welding, and assembly for large-scale projects in aerospace, defense, energy, and commercial sectors.

You will read blueprints, certify welds to specifications, and operate overhead cranes as needed. The role emphasizes safety, quality, and productivity in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Two years minimum trade school or vocational education or equivalent welding-related work experience.
• General welding knowledge, shop math, precision measuring instruments, blueprint reading and welding symbols.
• MIG and TIG welding experience required; physical weld test may be used in selection.

Responsibilities

• Build complex assemblies by layout, fit-up, assembly and welding operations.
• Certify to multiple weld specifications for different materials and processes.
• Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, drawings, routing instructions, manuals, and procedures to determine dimensions and tolerances.
