Job summary

Klover Prefab is seeking a Welder II to support prefab wall panel construction for commercial buildings. You will interpret shop drawings, select welding methods, and assemble panels using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment.

This role involves reading specs, measuring parts, and ensuring panels stay securely weld-connected through production. The position requires 5+ years MIG welding experience, current AWS D1.1 certifications, and a commitment to safety in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED is required.
  • 5+ years MIG welding experience or equivalent training/experience.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Trade school in construction/carpentry is a plus.
  • Current AWS D1.1 GMAW/SMAW certifications are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret shop drawings.
  • Gather and prepare materials for welding.
  • Choose appropriate welding method per specs and drawings.
  • Measure and cut materials accurately.
  • Layout panels per drawings and pre-assemble components.
  • Weld components using manual or semi-automatic equipment.
  • Move and secure wall assemblies during production.

Job description

Work Schedule:Monday-Thursday, 5 AM to 3:30 PM.

Voluntary overtime is available on Fridays and Saturdays.

The WelderII position is expected to produce welds that support the prefabrication ofexterior and interior wall panels for commercial buildings.

Essential(Core Competencies) Duties
  • Read and interpret shop drawings.
  • Gather and collect materials.
  • Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based onspecifications and shop drawings.
  • Accurately measure and cut miscellaneous materials.
  • Perform panel layout in accordance with drawings.
  • Pre-assemble panel components in preparation for weld.
  • Perform welds to ensure panel stays secured.
  • Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment invarious positions (vertical, horizontal or overhead)
  • Secure wall assembly onto crane, lift of jigs and move to the nextoperation.
  • Attends and/or completes welder and safety training (through KLOVERLearning Management System) as required by management.
MarginalFunctions
  • Maintains welding maintenance logs for welder certifications to remaincurrent.
  • Perform sheathing of welded panels.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications / PreferredEducation and Experience
  • High School diploma or GED
  • 5+ years MIG welding experience (or a combination of pre orpost-secondary education in welding and work experience).
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Trade school/vocational education in construction/carpentry and/or generalcarpentry experience.
  • Current AWS D1.1 GMAW and/or SMAW certifications.

WorkEnvironment

The workenvironment will consist mainly of heavy work in a manufacturing environment.There may be some exposure to seasonal humidity and extreme heat over 85degrees, excessive noise, and some vibration associated with the use of toolsand equipment. Some hazards such as proximity to moving mechanical parts,electrical current, caustic chemical, and slippery and uneven walking surfacesexist.

PhysicalRequirements
  • Due to the physical nature of the position,employee must have full dexterity of their hands and arms.
  • Employee must be able to see objects close andfar away.
  • At times, multiple sounds can be heard asemployee is working on job, employee must have the ability to focus on thesound in particular that is associated with the task they are completing. Employees with any sort of hearing impairmentwould not be considered fit for duty to perform this position.
  • Due to the safety sensitive nature of the position,at all times, employee must be fit for duty and not report to work under theinfluence of a mind altering or performance altering substance. At no time, should employee be found to bepossessing or using a mind or performance altering substance while performingany Company task.
