Job summary

Nikkiso Clean Energy & Industrial Gases is seeking a skilled Welder to join our North Las Vegas facility. You will perform GTAW and GMAW welding for LNG, CNG, LH2, LOX systems and assemble vacuum jacketed pipe on modular skids, following ASME B31.3 and project specs with a focus on safety and precision.

The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of welding experience, ASME qualifications, and the ability to read blueprints and WPS/PQR documents.

Qualifications

• ASME B31.3 process pipe welding experience.
• 3+ years welding experience, preferably in stainless/carbon steel piping/pressure vessels.
• Ability to read blueprints and technical instructions.
• Able to pass pre-employment and random drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Install stainless tube and pipe per spec (1/4" to 2").
• Weld stainless and carbon steel piping per ASME B31.3.
• Perform GTAW and GMAW in 6G position.
• Read blueprints, read WPS/PQR, and follow procedures.
• Set up welding components and prepare parts for welding.
• Test and inspect welded surfaces for flaws and safety.

Job Overview

We are looking for a skilled Welder familiar with ASME B31.3 process pipe welding and process system installations to modular skids. Both GTAW and GMAW welding processes will be used to assemble liquified natural gas (LNG), compressed natural gas (CNG), Liquid Hydrogen (LH2), and liquid oxygen (LOX) modular skids. They will also assemble vacuum jacketed pipe (VJP). Your job is important as it provides the foundation for strong infrastructure. A welder must be competent in using potentially dangerous equipment following all safety precautions. The ideal candidate will have a steady hand and great attention to detail. Knowledge of different kinds of metal and their properties is essential.

Responsibilities

• Stainless tube (1/4" – 1") installation.
• Stainless and carbon steel threaded pipe (1/2" - 2").
• Stainless and carbon steel welded pipe per ASME B31.3.
• Pipe support and process skid installation.
• GTAW and GMAW in 6G position
• Satisfy pre-employment and random drug screening tests.
• Butt - Welding
• Read blueprints and drawings and take or read measurements to plan layout and procedures.
• Read WPS and PQR and follow all variables to become a qualified ASME section IX welder.
• Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements.
• Set up components for welding according to specifications (e.g. cut material with powered saws to match measurements)
• Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded.
• Align components using calipers, rulers etc. and clamp pieces.
• Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal or overhead)
• Test and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws.
• Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

• ASME certified or certification-ready
• At least 3 years welding, preferably in stainless steel and carbon steel piping/pressure vessels.
• Ability to custom fit various piping, tubing, and clamps onto skid base.
• Ability to perform weld repairs on different pipe sizes.
• Ability to pass NDT on weld performed in 6G position.
• Complete understanding of blueprints and ability to work from written and verbal instructions.
• Demonstrated ability to perform the job in a highly capable manner with minimum supervision.
• Thorough experience using a wide variety of hand tools and capable of fitting and setting up details required for fabricated assemblies.
• Knowledge of basic computer operation.

Physical Demands

• Gloves required in assembly work.
• Ear protection required at all times in high noise areas.

Work Environment

This job operates in a warehouse environment. This role routinely utilizes the operation of material handling equipment and various tools and machinery.

Environmental Safety Requirements

• New Employee Safety Training is required by all newly hired employees, including Safety Awareness
• All safety related training is provided and tracked by the EHS Manager
• Job specific training modules deemed necessary by employee’s Manager or Director will be required of all employees on an ongoing basis.
