Job summary

Accelevation LLC in Miamisburg, OH is seeking a Welder I for a Fri/Sat/Sun wrap shift (6am-6:30pm). You will fabricate, assemble, and repair metal parts using various welding techniques, interpreting blueprints and symbols to meet project specs.

Responsibilities include setting up parts, welding, cutting, grinding, finishing, and documenting work while maintaining safety and quality standards. Prior welding experience welcomed; strong attention to detail preferred.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED, or 3–6 months related experience or training.
  • At least 6 months hands-on welding and fabrication experience.
  • Familiar with welding safety, filler selection, and process parameters.
  • Ability to read blueprints and welding symbols.
  • Strong communication and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and lead small projects.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and gather tools and materials per job instructions.
  • Fabricate, weld, cut, grind, and finish metal parts to spec.
  • Monitor welding to prevent warping and damage.
  • Prep, tack weld, and assemble parts for welding.
  • Maintain a clean, organized work area.
  • Report equipment or material issues to supervision.
  • Perform quality checks and complete required documentation.
  • Support prep work and grinding as needed.

Your Impact

As a welder for Accelevation, you will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and repairing metal structures and products using various welding techniques and equipment. This role involves setting up parts for welding, utilizing hand tools, clamps, jigs, and fixtures to ensure precision and quality. The Welder interprets blueprints, technical drawings, and welding symbols to execute work accurately. Key tasks include welding, cutting, grinding, and finishing metal surfaces to meet specifications and safety standards.

Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities
  • Plans details of work order procedures; gathers required tools and materials based on instructions and specifications provided for the job.
  • Repairs and fabricates various items and equipment using cutting, burning, and welding techniques and equipment.
  • Monitors the welding, burning, and fitting process to ensure parts are not overheated or damaged by warping, distortion, expansion, or shrinkage.
  • Prepares, assembles, and tacks weld parts and surfaces to be welded.
  • Maintains, organizes, and cleans equipment and the work area.
  • Notifies Team Leader when faulty equipment or defective materials are discovered.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned including Machine Operation.
  • Perform Quality Control and process all required documentation.
  • Perform Prep work and grinding.
Qualifications
  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED); or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 6 months+ of hands on experience in welding and fabrication applications: cutting, welding/brazing, drilling, marking/engraving, welding of dissimilar metals a plus.
  • Proficient in welding safety, weld filler selection, weld processing parameters, fixturing.
  • Familiarity and experience with metallurgy, weld joint analysis, backing gas applications.
  • Strong cognitive and clear communication skills which emphasize attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to lead projects to completion with minimal oversight, while demonstrating significant problem-solving ability.
  • Be able to work independently and unsupervised while prioritizing tasks.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

Employees must be able to talk and hear and frequently sit, with occasional standing, walking, reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling. Regular lifting up to 25 lbs and occasional lifting up to 50 lbs is required. Vision requirements include close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus. Work may involve exposure to moving mechanical parts, airborne particles, chemicals, electrical hazards, and very loud noise levels requiring hearing protection.
