Job summary

Ullerta Drilling Technologies L.P. in Fort Worth, TX seeks a Welder I to join our shop team. You will TIG weld and torch solder PDC cutters into bit bodies, inspect gauges, and rebuild bits to spec while maintaining a clean, organized work area.

You will operate acetylene/oxygen torches, use shop tooling and hoists, and adhere to safety and quality procedures with overtime as needed. A high school diploma is required.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in acetylene and oxygen torch operation.
• Experience using TIG welding for precision rebuilds.
• Familiarity with typical shop tooling and hoists.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
• Commitment to maintaining a clean and safe work environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage acetylene and oxygen torches to solder PDC cutters into bit bodies.
• Remove cutters from damaged areas and prepare the bit for repair.
• Utilize TIG welding to rebuild bits to specifications.
• Measure and verify gauge size to determine rebuild needs.
• Prepare pockets and polish blades for proper fit and finish of cutters.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment per standards.
• Follow all safety and quality policies and procedures.
• Perform tasks as instructed by bit documentation and management.
• Operate shop tooling and hoists safely and efficiently.
• Perform other shop duties as required.
