Job summary

Our San Luis Obispo site is seeking a Welder 1 to join our team. The Welder 1 performs tasks related to welding components used in Ultra High Purity Systems, including TIG welding, orbital welding, and lathe welding, following engineering specifications and safety instructions.

The role requires basic welding skills, ability to read drawings, operate SAP for part lists, and lift up to 50 lbs. A strong attention to detail and the willingness to work overtime are important, with a 3rd shift

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 0-2 years’ experience TIG welding of stainless steel.
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 50lbs daily.
• Ability to read drawings and navigate operating systems to locate instructions.

Responsibilities

• Weld components following instructions, drawings, and lists with supervision.
• Print drawings and parts lists in SAP.
• Clean tubing and weld fittings using UHP process.
• Weld tubing 1/2" to 3/4" diameter with orbital weld equipment.
• Weld tubing to fittings 1" to 4" diameter using lathe welding equipment.
• Follow written and verbal instructions and engineering specifications.
• Perform routine, repetitive operations and processes.
• Complete 6S responsibilities and maintain a safe, clean workspace.
• Support on-time shipments and safe operations.
• Provide accuracy and consistency in work.

Job Description:

The Role:

Our site in San Luis Obispo is seeking a Welder 1 to join our team. The Welder 1 will be responsible for performing tasks related to welding components used in our Ultra High Purity Systems. This will include, but not limited to, tack welding, final welding with orbital or lathe welding equipment, tubing, and various fittings to engineering specifications. These tasks will be accomplished using tig welding, orbital welding, and lathe welding machines. This position is expected to always operate in a safe manner and comply with all applicable work instructions.

What You’ll Do:

• Works from instructions, drawings, and lists of various tube configurations with supervision.
• Use SAP to print drawings and parts lists.
• Use Ultra High Purity (UHP) process to clean tubing and weld fittings.
• Weld tubing and components from ½” to¾“diameterusing orbital weld equipment.
• Weld tubing to fittings from 1” to 4” diameter using lathe welding equipment.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Follow engineering specifications to produce quality and accurate products in a timely manner.
• Performs routine, repetitive operations and processes.
• Complete 6S responsibilities (sort, set in order, shine, standardize, sustain, safety).
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment and maintain or increase On-Time Shipments.
• Ability to work safely and recognize the safety of others.
• Provide accuracy and consistency in work performance.
• Learn proper measuring techniques, tool use, care, and quality standards.
• Work with a team as well as independently when needed.
• Any other duties as assigned.
