Job summary

Samuel, Son & Co. is seeking skilled welders in Wisconsin to fabricate and repair pressure vessels. You will read blueprints, perform welds, and follow safety rules in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires certifications in welding, experience with GMAW and gouging, and the ability to operate cranes and forklifts. Training is provided and growth opportunities exist within the plant.

Qualifications

  • Must have a High School diploma or GED or at least 1 year in an industrial environment.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to all plant safety rules and regulations.
  • Perform daily preventative maintenance tasks.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, job routings, and standards.
  • Assemble heads, shells, and flanges for circumferential seam welding.
  • Hold necessary weld certifications to fabricate/repair pressure vessels.
  • Perform welding, cutting, gouging as required for fabrication of pressure vessels.
  • Handle material and operate cranes/forklifts with safety training.
  • Complete dye penetrant certification and inspect components as needed.
  • Record information on fabrication documentation accurately.

Responsibilities
  • Adhere to and abide by all plant safety rules and regulations.
  • Perform daily preventative maintenance tasks.
  • Perform daily equipment check lists (IE crane checks, equipment checks, etc.).
  • Be able to read and interpret blueprints, job routings, and Standard Engineering Specifications.
  • Properly assemble heads, shells, and flanges for circumferential seam welding.
  • Hold necessary weld certifications to fabricate and repair pressure vessels.
  • Be able to perform all kinds of welding, cutting, gouging operations applicable to the company, to properly fabricate pressure vessels.
  • Handset couplings, flanges, pipe nipples, legs, brackets, braces, etc., within tolerances specified on blueprints.
  • Record required information on proper forms relating to specific fabrication practices where required.
  • Pneumatic test doubler pads, and pressure vessels when required.
  • Dye penetrants inspect and do repairs to joggled shells. Successfully complete dye penetrant certification.
  • Material handling - operation of cranes, hoists, and forklifts as needed. Also successfully complete any training/safety program relating to the operation of the equipment.
  • Perform modifications or alterations to previously fabricated pressure vessels.
  • This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive, and the employee will also perform other reasonably related business duties as assigned by immediate supervisor and other management, as required. Staffing of positions to be determined by Company, as requirements warrant.
  • As a SPVG employee, you are required to understand the ISO system and the elements that affect your job.
Education and Certifications
  • Must have either a High School diploma, GED, or at least 1 year working experience in an industrial based environment.
Qualifications
  • Ability to work will in a fast-paced environment to meet team expectations.
  • Understanding and support of Company policies and procedures.
  • Ability to understand and abide by all safety rules and regulations to perform the job.
  • Must have a basic understanding of computers.
  • Must have reading, writing and simple math skills.
  • Must be able to read blueprints.
  • Wire feed (GMAW) welding equipment.
  • Air Carbon Arc gouging equipment
  • All Pneumatic tools available to shop employees.
  • 1', 2', and 4' levels, center finder, carpenters square, chalk line, compass, protractor, tape measure, circumference tape measure, center punch.
  • Air plasma arc cutting machine, Oxy / Acet cutting torch.
  • Fillet weld gauges.

Work experience in related industry is an asset but even if you do not have this, we still want you to apply. On the job training will be provided.
