Qualifications

• 6 months' previous experience as a welder helper.
• Be prepared to work long shifts up to 12 hours.
• Must be able to work safely around welding operations.
• Able to work in a team and follow directions.
• Familiarity with different metal types is a plus.
• Must maintain a clean, organized work area.
• Proficient use of basic welding-related tools.
• Demonstrate good attention to detail and safety.

Responsibilities

• Assist welder by providing required materials (rods, grinding discs).
• Set up and move welding rig between work areas.
• Adjust welding machine temperature under welder direction.
• Clean welds with buffer or grinder.
• Be familiar with metals such as carbon, stainless, galvanized.
• Maintain clean work area and restock materials as needed.
• Operate tools including beveling machines, grinders and torches.
• Work safely and accurately in a busy shop.
