Job summary

Mathis ISD is seeking a Welder Helper/Ag Mechanics Assistant - Paraprofessional to support vocational welding instruction in the secondary shop. You will assist the teacher with preparation and manage classroom activities under supervision.

Qualifications include an Associates degree or 48 college hours or TOPS Training; candidates should communicate well, work with children, and be familiar with shop safety rules. Paraprofessional pay scale.

Primary Purpose:

Assist the teacher in the preparation and management of vocational shop classroom activities and administrative requirements. Work under the supervision of a certified welding teacher.

Qualifications

Education/Certification:

• Associates degree from an accredited university or college or;
• 48 college hours from an accredited university or college or
• TOPS Training (Assessment Exam)

Special Knowledge/Skills

• Ability to work well with children
• Ability to communicate effectively
• Knowledge of working in technical or hands on shop environment.
