Job summary

Midland Stockyards is seeking an experienced Welder/Fabricator to join on a casual basis with consistent, steady hours in Midland, WA. There is a genuine opportunity to move into a full-time permanent position for the right candidate, with no FIFO and a friendly team environment.

Responsibilities include welding, fabrication, reading job sheets and drawings, maintaining quality workmanship, and ensuring a safe, clean workshop. Forklift ticket and MR licence are desirable.

Qualifications

• Second class welder/fabricator qualification is required or preferred.
• Proven experience in welding and fabrication.
• Forklift ticket is desirable.
• MR (medium rigid) driver’s licence is desirable.

• Carry out welding and metal fabrication work based on jobs issued by the operations team.
• Read and work from job sheets, drawings and specifications to produce quality finished products.
• Maintain a high standard of workmanship and finish.
• Keep the workshop clean, safe and organised, and look after tools and equipment.
• Follow all workplace health and safety procedures.
• Assist with receiving deliveries, packing customer orders and general yard organisation during quieter periods.
