Job Description

2nd shift opening---Monday- Thursday 3:30pm-2am.

WELDING TEST REQUIRED.

Responsibilities:

1. Fabricate and assemble metal structures and equipment through the use of welders, cutters, shapers and measuring tools.
2. Read blueprints and drawings and take or read measurements to plan layout and procedures.
3. Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements.
4. Set up components for welding according to specifications (e.g. cut material with powered saws to match measurements).
5. Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded.
6. Align components using calipers, rulers etc. and clamp pieces.
7. Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal or overhead).
8. Repair machinery and other components by welding pieces and filling gaps.
9. Test and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws.
10. Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety.
11. Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

1. Proven experience as a MIG welder.
2. Basic hand tools a requirement.
3. Experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures (TIG and MMA experience is a plus).
4. Experience in using electrical or manual tools (saws, squares, calipers etc.).
5. Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings.
6. Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing (face-shield, gloves etc.).
7. Attention to detail.
8. Successful completion of a relevant apprenticeship program is required.
9. Professional Certification (e.g. an AWS welding certificate) will be a plus.
