Job Summary

Industrial Welders in a fabrication shop are responsible for joining metal components using various welding techniques. They play a crucial role in manufacturing, creating a wide range of metal products.

Key Responsibilities

• Use various welding techniques to join metal components.
• Operate and maintain tools and equipment.
• Perform housekeeping in the work area.
• Wear safety glasses and hearing protection.
• Follow written and oral instructions.

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Welding certification preferred.

Experience

• Experience with GMAW, GTAW, and FCAW 3G Vertical welding.
• Experience with carbon and stainless steel required.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Strong manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
• Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
• Knowledge of welding techniques and equipment.
• Accuracy and precision in work.
• Adherence to safety procedures and regulations.

Work Location and Environment

• Location: Lakeland, FL
• The environment is an industrial shop, often hot/humid, with exposure to machinery and safety hazards. Must be alert and able to perform duties safely.
• Must pass drug screening, physicals, and background checks.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Stand for long periods.
• Walk regularly in the shop.
• Use hands and arms for handling and manipulating materials.
• Stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl frequently.
• Good vision, including color and depth perception.
• Lift and carry up to 100 lbs occasionally.
• Work outdoors in loud, dusty, hot, or cold environments.
