Job summary

RT&T Inc. is seeking a skilled candidate to provide support to the Atlantic Targets and Marine Operations Division across the east and west coast. Responsibilities include boat operations and maintenance on mechanical and electrical systems. The ideal candidate should have fabrication and welding experience, with a high school diploma or equivalent.

This position requires travel 40-50% of the year and the ability to work varying hours due to customer demands. Employees must be U.S. citizens and are required to pass a drug screening.

Job description

Overview

Provide support to the Atlantic Targets and Marine Operations Division both on the east and west coast. Applicant must have experience in fabrication and welding, with applicable certifications desired. Responsibilities to include boat operations, maintenance on both mechanical and electrical systems. Shipboard support to include knowledge of launching and recovery of small boats. Applicant must be able to perform said duties with minimal supervision. Position will be a part of an established Marine Operations division that supports multiple other systems on a variety of projects nationwide. Candidate can expect to be trained to participate in functions beyond normal operations. Ability to travel 40‑50 % of the year from one to six weeks at a time. Ability to obtain a passport. Possess valid state driver’s license; Commercial Driver License is a plus. Physically capable of transferring between vessels at sea. Good oral and written communication skills.

  • Minimum general mechanical and boat operations experience: Tech I – 2 Years
  • Tech II – 3 Years
  • Tech III – 4‑6 Years
  • Tech IV – 6‑8 Years
  • Tech V – 8‑10 Years
Additional Requirements
  • General knowledge of boat operations, mechanical and electrical operating systems.
  • Experience with driving pickup trucks with trailers on the road and in enclosed or limited spaces.
  • Employees can expect to work varying hours due to customer requirements. Operations often occur at night and may involve pre‑dawn departures to meet schedules.
Education Required
  • High School Diploma or equivalent. Trade school training is a plus.
  • Professional certifications/licenses are a plus.
Work Conditions

The working conditions at the main building will vary from sitting at a desk submitting data, reports, and completing work orders in a database to working in the shops (Engine & Engine Rebuild Shop, metal shop, wood shop, paint booth, Electrical/Electronic Shop, Micro Mini repair Facility, Target Shop, Trailer Shop and various administrative/support rooms and warehouse spaces). Employees operate small boats in local waters and offshore within the fleet operating areas. Environmental conditions will vary due to the nature of requirements.

Background
  • U.S. citizenship required and ability to obtain a U.S. DoD Interim Secret Security clearance. Ability to maintain clearance throughout employment if required.
  • All candidates will be required to pass a drug screening.
