Job summary

Cajun Industries, LLC is seeking a Combo Welder with training in arc and oxy-fuel welding to join our field and plant operations team. You will set up equipment and weld pipe, plate, or structural steel according to blueprints and specifications.

Responsibilities include material prep, torch maintenance, simple piping installations, and assisting other trades as needed. Must understand safety hazards and obtain required certifications.

Overview

The Combo Welder must be trained in a variety of welding processes, including arc welding and oxy-fuel welding depending on the material being used. Must possess the ability to set up equipment and weld either pipe, plate or structural steel using arc, gas-shielded arc or gas welding equipment. Will work from blueprints, sketches, specifications and produce quality work with reasonable efficiency. Will obtain certification as necessary. Must learn and understand all safety hazards related to the work and also learn to safely and effectively use or operate work related tools and equipment. Will be required to work in a plant operations or construction jobsite setting.

Qualifications

Physical: While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee may be required to:

• Move throughout active construction and project site environments, including areas with uneven terrain, mud, gravel, sand, and other varying surface conditions.


• Position themselves to inspect work, access materials, equipment, structures, and work areas at ground level, overhead, and in restricted-access locations.


• Ascend and descend stairs, ladders, scaffolding, and other elevated work surfaces while maintaining safety requirements.


• Frequently handle, operate, and use hand tools, power tools, equipment, instruments, and materials associated with assigned job duties.
