Job summary

Lake Air Products is hiring for a 1st shift Hand Laser Welder in Vadnais Heights, MN. If you have TIG/MIG experience and enjoy hands-on work, this role offers hands-on welding across flat, vertical, or overhead positions.

Candidate should be able to read blueprints, lift up to 50 pounds, and work with PPE in a collaborative environment with a strong emphasis on quality and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 1+ years of experience in TIG, MIG, and Tack-weld (TIG welding preferred).
• Excellent people skills, with an ability to partner with a dynamic leadership team.
• Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and a commitment to the mission.
• Ability to weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions.
• Lift objects up to 50 pounds throughout the day.
• Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Reading blueprints and performing all necessary measurements.

Responsibilities

• Lay out, position, and secure parts and assemblies according to specifications, using straightedge, combination square, calipers, and ruler
• Observe tests on welded surfaces, such as hydrostatic, x-ray, and dimension tolerance
• Develops templates or tooling and other work aids to hold and align parts.
• Determines required equipment and welding methods, applying knowledge of metallurgy, geometry, and welding techniques.
• Examining finished products and spare parts and comparing them with samples to check whether the specifications are met.
• Inspects grooves, angles, or gap allowances, using measuring instruments
• welding metal, such as fusing metal segments, using gas tungsten arc, metal arc, flux-cored arc, plasma arc, and other types of welding arcs
