Job summary

Pratt & Whitney, RTX's aerospace and defense division, seeks a skilled welder to perform Mig/Tig fusion welding and fabricate stainless steel extrusion cans. The role requires routine equipment maintenance, preparation of parts, and adherence to safety and quality standards.

This onsite position operates on a 4x10 schedule from 6:00am to 4:00pm. Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED and at least 1 year of relevant experience, with the ability to wear a respirator and lift up to 25

Responsibilities

• Perform hand and machine fusion welding (Mig and Tig) to construct powder containers.
• Perform routine maintenance on equipment to optimize uptime.
• Prepare parts for fabrication, including grinding, polishing and cleaning.
• Fabrication of stainless steel extrusion cans.
• Sealing and preparing cans for shipment.
• Comply with all company rules and regulations.
• May be required to take on additional tasks within scope to support department objectives.
• Support continuous improvement and CORE and EH&S initiatives, including wearing PPE.
• Basic level computer skills (MS Office).
• Clear understanding of shop mathematics involving decimals and fractions.
• Working knowledge of fusion welding processes and terminology.
• Ability to work alone with little to no supervision.
• Ability to troubleshoot minor fabrication/equipment issues.

What You Will Do

• Prepare all parts to be fitted together for fabrication, i.e., grinding, polishing, and cleaning.
• Fabrication of stainless steel extrusion cans.
• Sealing and preparing cans for shipment.
• Comply with all company rules and regulations outlined in the employee handbook.
• May be required to carry out tasks not specifically listed, within the scope and skill level of this position in support of department objectives and to develop one’s skills.
• Support the cell’s continuous improvement and all CORE and EH&S initiatives, including wearing required personal protective equipment.
• Basic level computer skills (General use of Microsoft Office).
• Clear understanding of shop mathematics involving decimals and fractions.

The position will work a schedule of Monday - Thursday (4x10) 6:00am - 4:00pm (6th shift).

The salary range for this role is $24.00. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
