Job Summary
Responsible for performing TIG welding on various aerospace production parts to produce weldment to specifications and quality standards.
This position includes work affecting conformity to product requirements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The duties and responsibilities described are not a comprehensive list, and additional tasks may be assigned. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
• Follow qualified weld schedule and perform welding on titanium and stainless steel parts with advanced technique (Group A and B Parts) using rotary table.
• Develop weld schedules to meet drawing, specification, and process procedure requirements.
• Responsible for investigation of quality issues and improvement in welding department.
• Qualified as weld inspector and perform inspection in weld operation.
• Participate and assist in NADCAP audit.
• Evaluate and prioritize workload according to needs. (Production & B&B fabrication)
• Assist team members when current responsibilities have been completed.
• Train and assist others on obtaining welding qualifications for Group A and B parts.
• Communicate with requestor to design, place orders, and fabricate tooling made from sheet metal and extruded aluminum for internal use.
• Obtain AWS D17.1 GTAW Welder Qualification on Stainless Steel and Titanium Material Group or equivalent.
• Follows procedures and utilizes appropriate equipment to clean, prep, fit, weld and inspect parts.
• Understand ANSI 14.5 and AWS A2.4 symbology and interpretation.
• Understand and follow job step information, W/C priorities and schedule, WIP move, request NCMR, maintain material lot integrity, and record traceability information.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• 3 Years – Related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Certified to AWS D17.1 Metal Group VI (Titanium Alloys) Groove weld in Sheet at 1G position or equivalent.
• Obtain Group A Parts production approval
