Job summary

Flogistix Lp in El Reno, OK is seeking a skilled welder to fabricate and weld pressure vessels and related components in the Bottle Shop. You will read engineering drawings, follow welding procedures, and prepare shells, heads, and nozzles for welding.

Qualifications

• One or more years of welding experience in a manufacturing environment; pressure-vessel experience is preferred.
• Must pass welding qualification test (3G or 6G positions).
• Read engineering drawings, weld symbols, dimensional information, and welding procedure specifications.
• Able to produce consistent welds meeting visual and quality requirements.
• Knowledge of joint preparation, fit-up, distortion control, and weld-repair practices.
• Operate or learn to operate overhead cranes and material-handling equipment.

Responsibilities

• Read and follow engineering drawings, weld symbols, bills of material, work instructions, and approved welding procedures.
• Prepare and fit pressure-vessel shells, heads, nozzles, couplings, supports, and related components for welding.
• Verify dimensions, orientation, alignment, and joint preparation using measuring tools.
• Perform tack and production welds in required positions and processes while maintaining qualifications.
• Monitor weld size, penetration, profile, heat input, and distortion; follow preheat/interpass requirements.
• Visually inspect completed welds and perform authorized corrections or repairs as needed.
• Maintain material and weld traceability, including weld maps, stamps, and production records.
• Coordinate with Quality personnel for inspections or nondestructive examination.
• Safely operate welding machines, positioners, grinders, cutting equipment, cranes, and other tools.
• Follow safety requirements and maintain PPE; report unsafe conditions.
• Meet production schedules while maintaining workmanship and quality.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and daily housekeeping.

Job Details: Job Location: El Reno Manufacturing - El Reno, OK 73036, Position Type: Full Time, Education Level: High School, Travel Percentage: None, Job Shift: Day, Fabricate and weld pressure vessels and related components in the Bottle Shop in accordance with engineering drawings, approved welding procedures, quality requirements, and Flogistix standards. Primary duties include material preparation, fit-up, tack welding, production welding, and visual inspection of completed work.

Works independently and with production, quality, and other team members to complete safe, accurate, and timely work.

Principal Duties

• Read and follow engineering drawings, weld symbols, bills of material, work instructions, and approved welding procedures.
• Prepare and fit pressure-vessel shells, heads, nozzles, couplings, supports, and related components for welding.
• Verify dimensions, orientation, alignment, and joint preparation using measuring tools.
• Perform tack and production welds in the positions and processes required for assigned work while maintaining applicable welding qualifications.
• Monitor weld size, penetration, profile, heat input, and distortion; follow preheat or interpass requirements when specified.
• Visually inspect completed welds and perform authorized corrections or repairs using approved procedures.
• Maintain required material and weld traceability, including identification, weld maps, stamps, and production records.
• Coordinate with Quality personnel and support required inspections or nondestructive examination.
• Safely operate welding machines, positioners, grinders, cutting equipment, overhead cranes, and other assigned equipment.
• Follow safety requirements, wear required PPE, and promptly report unsafe conditions, equipment concerns, or quality issues.
• Work with team members to meet production schedules while maintaining workmanship and quality standards.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and the work area and complete daily housekeeping duties.

Qualifications

• Ability to read engineering drawings, weld symbols, dimensional information, and welding procedure specifications.
• Ability to produce consistent welds that meet applicable visual and quality acceptance requirements.
• Working knowledge of joint preparation, fit-up, tack welding, distortion control, and weld-repair practices.
• Basic ability to use oxy-fuel or other approved cutting and heating equipment.
• Ability to use grinders, drills, measuring tools, and other hand and power tools safely.
• Ability to operate or learn to operate overhead cranes, positioners, and material-handling equipment.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, document work accurately, and communicate quality concerns.
• Reliable attendance, punctuality, teamwork, and a strong commitment to safety and quality.
