Job summary

Valmet is seeking a Welder II for our Houston shop. You will perform welding on valves and piping, including GTAW variants and FCAW, with an emphasis on overlay and manual pipe welding.

The role requires passing a 6G weld test and X-ray inspection on ½"‑6" pipe, in an air-conditioned shop with multiple shifts. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED, plus 5+ years of welding experience, and the ability to obtain certification within six months.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; technical courses preferred.
• Certified Welder or ability to become certified within first six months of employment.
• Minimum of 5 years welding, cutting, brazing experience.
• Minimum of 5 years using the compact cladders (ARC 5, Fronius).

Perform welding (GTAW-Pulsed, GTAW-Hot Wire, GTAW, FCAW) on valves and piping. Overlay and manual pipe welding abilities required. Level II Manual Pipe Welding pass GTAW, FCAW processes and be able to pass 6G test and X-ray on ½"-6" Pipe. Airconditioned shop with multiple shifts available.
