Job summary
Latham Pool Products, Inc in Lindon, Utah seeks a Welder for 1st shift (6am-2:30pm) to cut and weld using MIG equipment and learn other machine shop tasks. This on-site, full-time role offers valuable benefits and growth opportunities.
Qualified candidates will have a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training, a high school diploma or GED, and the ability to read technical instructions, maintain precision, and lift up to 65 lbs. Overtime may be required.

Responsibilities
- Plan details of work orders; gather tools and materials per job instructions.
- Repair and fabricate items using cutting, punching and welding techniques.
- Monitor welding to prevent overheating or distortion.
- Prepare, assemble and tack weld parts and surfaces.
- Maintain and clean equipment and work area.
- Notify supervisor of faulty equipment or materials.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

The welder will cut materials and weld using MIG welding equipment. Must also be willing and able to learn to operate other equipment in the machine shop.
- Plans details of work order procedures; gathers required tools and materials based on instructions and specifications provided for the job
- Repairs and fabricates various items and equipment using cutting, punching and welding techniques and equipment
- Monitors the welding and fitting process to ensure parts are not overheated or damaged by warping, distortion, expansion or shrinkage
- Prepares, assembles and tacks weld parts and surfaces to be welded
- Maintains, organizes and cleans equipment and the work area
- Notifies supervisor when faulty equipment or defective materials are discovered
- Performs other related duties as assigned
- Thorough understanding of machines and tools used in welding including designs, uses, maintenance and repair
- Basic understanding of design techniques, principles and tools necessary for the precise production of technical plans, drawings, modules and blueprints
- Excellent ability to read and listen to assignments given in a variety of forms
- Basic understanding of mathematics as related to welding assignments
- Completion of a formal apprenticeship OR successful completion of an in-company, 3 year training program required.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Must be able to weld components that are vertical, flat or overhead
- Must have enough manual dexterity and stability as required for precision work
- must be able to see details at close range
- Must be able to lift up to 65 lbs at times
- Must be able to travers facilities and machinery by climbing, balancing, lifting, walking, stooping and carrying materials
- Must be able to stand 8-10 hours per shift if needed
- Must be able to work overtime as needed
