Job summary

Nucor Corporation is hiring for a welder position in Lacrosse, VA. Safely welding steel structural parts per drawings, operating grinders, transfers and drills, while ensuring weld quality and proper inspection. Collaborative teamwork and adherence to safety standards are essential.

This role offers pay with a weekly production bonus and requires a 2G weld certification. Strong attention to safety and accuracy will be rewarded with stability and career growth at Nucor.

Qualifications

• WQ1 (2G) weld certification is required.
• Willingness to read weld symbols and use basic crane equipment.
• Experience with material handling is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Weld steel structural parts per drawings or prints.
• Operate grinder to prepare and finish welds.
• Operate flip rite.
• Operate transfers.
• Operate magnetic drill.
• Perform full visual inspection of welds.
• Communicate safety, quality and efficiency concerns with the team.

Pay Range and Closing Date

Pay range: $16.21 - $18.47 Plus Weekly Production Bonus

Closing Date: 9/11/26

Basic Job Functions:

• Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be ableto demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures,and housekeeping standards at all times.
• Welding steel structural parts as specified per drawing or print.
• Operating grinder to prepare and finish welds.
• Operating flip rite.
• Operating transfers.
• Operating magnetic drill.
• Full visual inspection of part ensuring all welds are in place and properly applied.
• Effectively communicating with upstream and downstream to address safety, quality andefficiency issues/concerns.

Minimum Qualifications:

• WQ1 (2G) weld certification

Preferred Qualifications:

• Can read and understand weld symbols
• Can use an arc gouger
• Previous crane certification
• Previous experience in material handling
