Job summary

CMI Limited Co. is seeking a dedicated welder/fabrication associate to support the Operations Team at Gator Plant in Sanford, FL. You will perform daily tasks assigned by the Production Leader and contribute to aluminum fabrication and quality control.

The role offers hands-on training and testing to achieve the AWS D1.2 Structural Aluminum certification within six months, with potential shift work and a focus on safety, accuracy, and teamwork.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to pass drug and criminal background checks.
• Obtain D1.2 Structural Certification within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Work under the direction of higher level welders and supervisor.
• Lay out, position, align, and secure parts prior to assembly.
• Cut material to size for welders.
• Perform quality checks on your own work.
• Operate hand and power tools as needed.
• Operate forklifts and other equipment.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety practices.
• Collaborate with team members and other departments.
• Complete assignments with urgency to improve efficiency.
• May work second or third shifts.
• Weld fabricated aluminum products.
• Be reliable, responsible, and dependable.
• Work in harsh conditions (heat, weather, noise, confined spaces).
• Frequently lift heavy parts.

Summary/ObjectivePerforms daily tasks as assigned by Production Leader.

Essential Functions

• Works under the direction of higher level welders and supervisor
• May work independently on projects of moderate complexity.
• Lay out, position, align, and secure parts and assemblies prior to assembly using straightedges, combination squares, and tape measures.
• Cuts material to size for higher level welders.
• Perform quality checks on one’s own work.
• Ability to use various hand power tools to accomplish assignments.
• Operating vehicles or equipment, running, maneuvering, navigating, or driving vehicles or mechanized equipment, such as forklifts, passenger vehicles.
• Maintain areas for cleanliness and safety practices.
• Interact with team members and other departments in a professional manner.
• Work assignments with a sense of urgency to obtain efficiency of operations.
• Other duties as assigned by management
• May be asked to work second or third shifts.
• Demonstrated ability to weld fabricated aluminum products.
• Good organizational, multitasking, and prioritizing abilities.
• Knowledge of arithmetic, geometry and their applications.
• The ability to see details at close range and pass jaeger vision test.
• Being reliable, responsible, dependable and fulfilling obligations
• Work in harsh conditions, heat, weather, noise and confined spaces.
• Frequently lifts heavy parts and sets them in place.
